José Guadalupe Posada (1851–1913) was a Mexican illustrator whose work has come to define his country during the era he lived. This is one of the many broadsides (news sheets) he illustrated for publisher Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, blown up to almost three-feet high and reproduced as a silkscreen print. This is Posada’s illustration of the patron saint of Lake Chapala in Jalisco.
