If you have to cover your face, cover it with the beauty of Chiapas! These facemasks were handmade by Francisca and sisters, artisans from San Andres Larrainzar, Chiapas, who make their fabric using a traditional pedal loom. We purchased their masks through Chamuchic [https://www.facebook.com/Chamuchic-172224312798345/]. The “rombo” symbol on this mask is an abstract representation of the universe. These masks are a bit larger than some of the other masks we’ve seen. Note, though, that the rombo in the center appears as different colors throughout the run, so don’t expect that the stitched element will be the same color as in this picture.
